Wayne or "Cub" as he was known from a young age as he looked like a little bear, should have been named "wolf" as he was extremely loving and loyal to his pack. He was always at the center of a party or gathering of friends.
He was strong and talented, a jack of all trades for sure, but the two things he mastered was roofing and painting. Employed by F.W. Bailey & Sons for years Cub would often give impromptu tours of homes or buildings that he replaced the roofs for. He was very proud of the work he did and if he spotted a home he didn't work on, he would point out the flaws or things the competition did incorrectly!
Cub was also an excellent painter sharing a business with his lifelong friend/brother Nicky Pappacoda for years. Cub was the master "cutter" Nicky on the "rollers"!
Cub loved his family and friends for sure but we shared him as he was an avid sports fan who also loved to place a wager or two…or more on a game just to make things more interesting. The Minnesota Vikings, Yankees, Washington Bullets/Wizards, Knicks and golf had his heart too. Scratch tickets was another favorite pastime next to watching his shows NCIS, Law & Order and The Blacklist to name a few.
Cub was a loyal friend, always willing to lend a helping hand whenever someone was in a jam. Home projects, clean ups, moving, whatever the task he was there to help. He will surely be missed by all of us as there will never be another "Cub" in our den!
The Corcoran family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at the Smilow Cancer Hospital – Shoreline Medical Center – Guilford for all their kind and compassionate care.
All services are private and under the care of the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, East Haven. In lieu of flowers, please make donation to the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter, 749 E. Main Street, Branford CT 06405 in memory of Wayne "Cub" Corcoran.
